October 2008 - Berrien Springs MI Rally

The October Michigan Knights of the Highway rally will be October 3, 4, 5 2008  at the Berrien County Youth Fairgrounds  GPS address for Gate #1 = 9220 Old U.S. 31, Berrien Springs, Michigan 49103 (this is NOT the Fairgrounds Office address).

Directions: 

Note - We will NOT be using Gate #3 to enter the Fairgrounds.  We will be using Gate #1 on Old US-31.

Driving Directions:

From The North:

I-196 to I-94.  West on I-94 to Exit 30 for US-31 South.  Turn left at top of ramp and go about 2 miles East on Napier Ave.  Turn right (South) on the new extension of the US-31 expressway.  At Exit 15 (M-139) turn left (Southeast) on Old US-31.  Watch for Gate #1 on the right for the Berrien County Youth Fairgrounds.  We will be camping in the Red area
 

From the East on I-94:

West on I-94 to Exit 30 for US-31 South.  Turn left at top of ramp and go about 2 miles East on Napier Ave.  Turn right (South) on the new extension of the US-31 expressway.  At Exit 15 (M-139) turn left (Southeast) on Old US-31.  Watch for Gate #1 on the right for the Berrien County Youth Fairgrounds.  We will be camping in the Red area.


From East I-94 or North I-196 Alternate (the old way):

I-94 West to Exit 28 (M-139).  Turn right at bottom of exit ramp.  Follow south for 10 miles past Red Bud Trail (Yellow blinker light).  At this point, M-139 turns into Old US-31.  Continue on Old US-31.  Watch for Gate #1 on the right for the Berrien County Youth Fairgrounds.  We will be camping in the Red area.


From the West on I-94:

I-94 east to Exit 16 (Bridgman).  Turn right at bottom of exit ramp (Red Arrow Highway).  Go to Stop Light, turn right on Lake Street.  Continue East on Lake Street which turns into Shawnee Road after a mile or so.  It is about 9 miles from Red Arrow Highway to the Stop sign at Red Bud Trail.  Turn Left (North) on Red Bud Trail.  Go to the end of Red Bud Trail at the Red Blinker Light.  Turn Right on Old US-31.  Go over the expressway and watch for Gate #1 on the right for the Berrien County Youth Fairgrounds.  We will be camping in the Red area.



From the South on US-31 (Indianapolis):

Follow US 31 north to the US 31 Bypass just south of South Bend, IN.  Take the US 31 bypass north into Michigan.  Continue on US 31 bypass to Exit 15.  Turn Right at end of exit ramp on Old US-31 and watch for Gate #1 on the right for the Berrien County Youth Fairgrounds.  We will be camping in the Red area.

From the Indiana Turnpike (I-80):

Take Exit 72 to US-31.  Go North on US-31.  Continue on US-31 in to Michigan to Exit 15.  Turn Right at end of exit ramp on Old US-31 and watch for Gate #1 on the right for the Berrien County Youth Fairgrounds.  We will be camping in the Red area.
 

Everyone welcome to come early and stay late. Wednesday Noon through Monday, all extra nights camping $16.00 per night (Wednesday, Thursday or Sunday nights).  If you come before Thursday or stay late, the Michigan Knights of the Highway are not responsible for any damages or injuries you may experience.  If you arrive before Thursday, the parking crew may have to relocate you on Thursday.

Rally Details

Thursday, Oct 2   -  5:30PM – Potluck supper – Bring dish to pass and own table service.  Building #9.

Friday, Oct 3      -    About 10:00 AM - Golf Outing with Jim & Wanda Riemersma.

No Red Hat luncheon at the October rally.

 5:30 to 6:30 PM – Snack - Turkey and Sloppy Joe sandwiches, chips & cookie.  Building #9.

After Snack – Bingo.  Building #9.
 

 Saturday, Oct 4  -    8:00 – 9:30 AM – Cookies and fellowship with first timers.  Building #9.

 10:00 AM - Board Meeting in Building #9

 11:00 AM - General Membership in Building #9

 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM - Chapel Hill Arts & Crafts Show (see below) – Buildings 34, 35, 36, 37.

 5:30 – 6:30 PM – Catered Dinner – Beef, Pork, Au Gratin potatoes, Green beans,  Fruit, rolls & cake.  Building #9.

 After Dinner - The Michiana Cloggers will entertain us

 After Entertainment – Drawing with Jim & Wanda – MUST be there.

Sunday, Oct 5      -   8:00 – 9:00AM – Donuts and Coffee.  Building #9.

9:15 AM – Singsperation with Jerry Wessel.

The 29th Chapel Hill Arts & Craft Show will be at the fairgrounds that Saturday.  They will fill Buildings #34, #35, #36 & #37.
