July 2012 - Metamora Rally

The July Michigan Knights of the Highway rally will be July 20, 21, 22 2012 at the Sutton Centennial Farm - 2930 Five Lakes Rd, Metamora MI 48455-9365.

Directions: 

From the East on I-69:  Take Exit 159 at Wilder Road (CR-16).  At the bottom of the ramp, turn left (South).  Continue to the next cross-road and turn left (East) on E. Newark Rd (CR-58).  Continue to the next cross-road and turn right (South) on S Five Lakes Road (CO Hwy 14).  Continue on S. Five Lakes Rd past Hunters Creek Rd to 2930 Five Lakes Rd.  Watch for the Knights sign.

Early Arrival - The rally fee covers dry-camping for the nights of July 20 & 21, 2012.  If you plan to come in on Thursday and/or stay Sunday night, there is no cost per night.   If you come before Thursday or stay late, the Michigan Knights of the Highway are not responsible for any damages or injuries you may experience.  If you arrive before Thursday, the parking crew may have to relocate you on Thursday. 

The cost for this rally will likely be low to cover the cost of renting a tent, tables and chairs.  This will be dry camping - no power, water or sewer.

List of items you should bring:  1. Flashlights, 2. Bug Spray/Mosquito Lotion, 3. Long Handled Hot Dog Roasting Forks, 4. Long Handled Bon Fire Pie Bakers, 5. Graham Crackers, Marshmallows & Hershey's Chocolate for Smores.

 Thursday, July 21 - Spend the day relaxing and chatting with fellow Knights.

 Friday, July 22  -  About 10:00 AM Golf Outing

         Friday & Saturday Local Events:  1. Seven Ponds Nature Center, 2. Past-Tense Cider Mill, 3. Quilt Shops not too far away, 4. White Horse Inn – Old stagecoach stop which is now a restaurant in Metamora.

    11:30am - Ladies Luncheon – If a luncheon is arranged, you will be notified on arrival.
 

  5:30 - 6:30 PM - Potluck Supper - There will be a hot dog roast along with the Friday night potluck.  (Bring your own roasting sticks & pie bakers).  Hot dogs, buns & fixings will be furnished.  Bring a dish to pass, and your own pie fixings.  Coffee, lemonade and water will be provided.

           After Supper – There will be a Hay Ride, a bonfire & Smores afterward.
 

Saturday, July 23 - 9:00 – 10:00 AM – Coffee, cookies, and fellowship with first timers

5:30 – 6:30PM – Saturday Dinner We will caravan to the Lenny Miller Restaurant in Dryden, MI.  We will order from the menu and tax and gratuity are included.  Price range:  House Specialties: $8.95 - $15.95 for seafood.  Sandwiches & Lite Fare - $6.95 to $8.95.

When we return, we will play some games and have some door prizes, followed by hay ride and bonfire.

 Sunday, July 24 - Sunday Morning Pumpout is available for $20.  Check box below.

      8:00 – 9:00AM – Coffee & Donuts.

      9:15 – Singspiration with Jerry Wessel.
